Radio Frequency Engineer Intern

Nikola Labs is on a quest to create the future and build the world’s leading wireless power company. As a RF Intern, you will assist senior engineers to apply Nikola’s RF-to-DC wireless power technology to solve real-world problems. Through collaboration with team members , your work will help improve a wide range of consumer and industrial products by incorporating wireless power capability. This position reports to the Lead Engineer and works closely with engineers and technicians on customer-focused projects and internal developments. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Testing advanced wireless power solutions for IoT and other applications
  • Designing antennas and microwave circuits including combiners, filters, matching networks and transmission lines
  • Tuning and measuring antennas and microwave circuits and systems
  • Characterizing various materials for novel RF designs
  • Optimizing current microwave designs/systems for better performance and cost reduction


RF Engineer Interns at Nikola Labs should have the following qualifications:

  • MS/PhD student, Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred
  • Knowledge of ANSYS HFSS and Keysight ADS
  • Experience using Altium to create PCB layouts for circuits and antennas
  • Experience using standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English; other languages are a plus
