Chi-Chih Chen



Dr. Chi-Chih Chen is co-founder and Chief Science Officer for Nikola Labs, and is internationally recognized for his research on wireless energy, sensor networks, antennas and radar.  Before joining Nikola, Dr. Chen was a research associate professor at The Ohio State University. During Dr. Chen’s time at The ElectroScience Laboratory at OSU, he created and patented the wireless energy conversion technique that powers VERO. Dr. Chen is a fellow of both the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Antenna measurement Techniques Association. He holds 16 U.S. patents and is part of the peer review board for 20 different academic and professional journals. Dr. Chen earned his masters and doctoral degrees in electrical and computer engineering from The Ohio State University. 

When he isn’t working, Dr. Chen enjoys fishing with his son.
